Élisabeth Couture
Elisabeth Couture (Ph.D Université Laval) is a professor, facilitator, director, and team leader who has been guiding groups of children, adolescents, and adults for over 40 years.
She gained rich experience through her 20 of teaching in the Theatre and Development – today’s Performance Creation – program at Concordia University. Since 2006, she has worked with the group Promito Playback both as founder and conductor, and she is a practicing psychodramatist, accredited through the Centre international de psychothérapie expressive. Artistic Director of Ateliers l’Aquarium et le Globe for 20 years, she is also founder of the accredited School of Playback Theatre for Francophones.
Elisabeth practices the Listening Hour, an approach conceived by Jonathan Fox, co-founder of Playback Theatre, and also trains new leaders in the approach. She is a co-founder and participant in the Carrefour de theatre d’intervention, an annual conference for practitioners of Theatre for Social Change in Montreal since 2016.
